On November 6, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University hosted Stefanyk Info Day: Univer&City, an event that brought together the activities of three faculties — the Faculty of Pedagogy, the Faculty of Physics and Technology, and the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
The event welcomed students from local lyceums as well as students of professional colleges in Ivano-Frankivsk.
The meeting with prospective students was moderated by Halyna Voloshchuk, Director of the Center for Professional Career and Education and Associate Professor of the Department of Philology at the Kolomyia Educational and Scientific Institute. She greeted the university’s guests, wished them confidence in choosing their professional path, and emphasized that the Carpathian University is not only a place of study but also a space for growth, creativity, and self-realization.
Lecturers and students of the Faculty of Physics and Technology presented engaging talks, experimental demonstrations, and quizzes. In particular, Volodymyr Hryha, Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Engineering and Electronics and the faculty’s career guidance coordinator, gave a presentation on the faculty’s structure, academic programs and specializations, as well as scholarship opportunities for future students.
Volodymyr Kotsiubynskyi, Head of the Department of Applied Physics and Materials Science and Professor, introduced students to the opportunities offered by the modern “CNU-Nanolab” training laboratory. They also learned about the department’s unique student research projects and prospects for studying in the fields of nanotechnology, energy, and space research.
Liubomyr Nykyruy, Head of the Department of Physics and Astronomy and Professor, spoke about dual-degree programs, the department’s international scientific collaborations, and career prospects for graduates.
Andrii Kupchak, a Master’s student of the “Computer Engineering” program, delivered a presentation on his own career path in information technology. Students learned about job-search platforms, ways to develop soft skills, modern tools used by specialists, and explored examples of completed projects.
At the Faculty of Physics and Technology locations, participants had the opportunity to conduct physics experiments and explore the science behind them under the guidance of Halyna Voitkiv, Associate Professor of the Department of Physics and Astronomy. They also worked with “smart” systems and learned the fundamentals of virtual and augmented reality technologies. In addition, participants took part in a quiz, and the most active among them received prizes from the faculty.
We sincerely thank all guests who attended Stefanyk Info Day: Univer&City — the students and teachers of city and regional lyceums, as well as the students of the Ivano-Frankivsk Medical Professional College.
