The “Carpathian University” Science Park, in collaboration with a startup accelerator, held the “Startup Competition 2026,” a student startup competition that brought together teams of young innovators from various faculties and academic and research institutes of the university.
Participants presented their own projects in the fields of defense technologies, artificial intelligence, eco-friendly materials, business analytics, logistics, inclusive services, sustainable fashion, and smart solutions for water quality monitoring. The jury paid particular attention to projects in the fields of electronics and computer engineering, notably the startup “Winged Shadow,” as well as developments related to organic plastic production technologies.
The competition finals took place today, during which the teams presented their innovative solutions, combining a scientific approach, modern technologies, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking.
University Rector Valentina Yakubiv congratulated the finalists and emphasized that student startups today are not only a space for creative ideas but also an important tool for developing Ukraine’s innovative economy. She stressed that the university consistently supports young people who strive to create technological solutions with practical social significance.
Ihor Tsependa, Chair of the University’s Academic Council, noted that the competition will serve as a platform for fostering student entrepreneurship, building an innovation ecosystem, and supporting promising ideas capable of transforming contemporary technological and social challenges into practical solutions.

The winners of the competition were students from the Department of Computer Engineering and Electronics, who presented their innovative projects with distinction and demonstrated a high level of technical expertise. Based on the competition results, participants were awarded certificates and recognized for their creativity, engineering approach, and the potential of their proposed solutions.
Also in attendance were representatives of ТОВ «Прикарпатенерготрейд», who supported the initiative to foster youth entrepreneurship and an innovative environment at the university.
