On November 10, 2025, on the occasion of World Science Day for Peace and Development, the scholars of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University joined the VII International Festival of Educational Innovations “STEAM-HUMAN FOR PEACE: THE POWER OF REASON AND GOODNESS FOR HUMANITY.”
The festival was organized by the Center for Educational Innovations of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council. The event was moderated by the director of the Center for Educational Innovations, Mariia Pochynok.
This scientific forum—a space of creativity, invention, and research—brought together more than 150 teams from across Ukraine and 10 other countries. The competition entries were presented in five categories: “Natural Sciences,” “Technology,” “Engineering,” “Art,” and “Mathematics.” The submissions were evaluated by a distinguished jury chaired by the heads of higher education institutions of Ivano-Frankivsk, prominent scholars, and experienced educators.
Addressing the participants with words of encouragement, the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Educational Work, Eduard Lapkovskyi, emphasized: “True innovation is born where curiosity meets responsibility. You are creating a future that serves humanity.”
The jury for the “Engineering” category included faculty members of the Faculty of Physics and Technology—Professor Ihor Lishchynskyi of the Department of Physics and Astronomy, and Associate Professor Halyna Voitkiv of the same department.
After the jury completed its evaluation in all categories, the winners were announced. It is worth noting that the research and creative projects that received the highest scores in the secret ballot were awarded valuable prizes and special recognitions.
The locations presented by the Faculty of Physics and Technology also attracted great interest. These were prepared by Associate Professor Volodymyr Hryha of the Department of Computer Engineering and Electronics, Associate Professor Halyna Voitkiv of the Department of Physics and Astronomy, and students of the Secondary Education program (Physics and Astronomy).
In particular, school students had the opportunity to observe fascinating physics experiments and gain a deeper understanding of the nature of high-frequency electric currents and potentials, as well as the laws of conservation of energy and momentum.
Additionally, participants were shown the operation of a “smart home” system and an air-quality monitoring system, both implemented using microcontrollers and various microelectronic sensors. The atmosphere was filled with curiosity, creativity, and inspiration for exploring the world of science.
The Festival of Educational Innovations once again demonstrated that Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University continues to support and advance STEAM education, the intellectual development of youth, and the culture of creative experimentation.
Together, we are shaping a new culture of education that changes the world.
From the peaks of the Carpathians — to the peaks of science!
