STEFANYK 14×14: Open Day Science Picnic

On May 14, on University Day, a large-scale and vibrant event “STEFANYK 14×14: Open Day Scientific Picnic” was held at the Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University.

The event brought together schoolchildren, applicants, parents, guests of the city, students and university employees, becoming a true celebration of youth, opportunities and new discoveries.

The university rector, Valentyna Yakubiv, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. She congratulated the guests on the University Day, wished everyone good impressions, inspiration, and confidence in choosing their future professional path. Her sincere words were a wonderful start to a busy and atmospheric day.

The event was moderated by Galyna Voloshchuk, Director of the Professional Career Center.

This year, the event took place in the format of Stefanyk City — a symbolic university city, in which faculties and institutes became separate thematic locations with their own color, style, and special atmosphere.

Special Stefanyk City Passports were prepared for the guests, which became a bright element of the event and an interesting part of getting to know the university.

All faculties and institutes of the university participated. Each location was decorated creatively, modernly and brightly, and the overall concept of a colorful university city created a special atmosphere of unity, diversity and development.

Guests had the opportunity to get to know the educational areas better, talk to faculty representatives, ask questions, and feel like part of a large university community.

Scientists from the Center for Innovative Methods Liliya Midak, Olga Kuzyshyn, Iryna Malakhova, as well as representatives of the Career Center Mariana Danylyuk, Natalia Barlozhetska, and Iryna Vorobets handed out Stefanyk City resident passports and young scientist bracelets to the participants.

Representatives of the Admissions Committee Ivan Plets and Maria Marcinkiv provided consultations to all interested parties regarding admission, study, and university opportunities. Throughout the day, a lively, friendly, and festive atmosphere reigned on the university grounds.

The locations were filled with communication, smiles, activities, and sincere emotions. Participants visited thematic zones with interest, got acquainted with the university environment, and discovered new perspectives for themselves.

The Faculty of Education, coordinated by Maryana Dereniuk, presented a series of interactive activities, digital quests, pedagogical games, and socio-educational practices that introduced participants to modern approaches to learning and education.

The Educational and Scientific Legal Institute, coordinated by Tetyana Shchab-Buchynska, demonstrated forensic and identification technologies, including the operation of ultraviolet devices, the Face system, metal detectors, and the basics of fingerprinting.

The Faculty of Economics, under the coordination of Ivan Blahun, prepared economic crossword puzzles, case studies, advertising projects, and interactive predictions.

The Faculty of Tourism, under the coordination of Dmytro Kopylets, organized interactive trips through puzzles, gastroquizzes, and travel quizzes.

The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, coordinated by Yulia Voronych, offered participants coordination and balance exercises.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, coordinated by Kateryna Koporkh, presented logic problems, mathematical games, and computer simulations.

The Kolomyia Educational and Scientific Institute, coordinated by Oksana Kovalchuk, organized quest and game activities for applicants.

The Faculty of Psychology, under the coordination of Maria Dziubynska, conducted psychodiagnostic, art therapy, and test methods of self-knowledge.

The Faculty of Foreign Languages, coordinated by Natalia Pylyachyk, offered language games, quizzes, and cultural interactives in various languages.

The Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations, coordinated by Iryna Sernyak, presented historical quests, archaeological exhibits, and political simulations.

The Institute of Arts, coordinated by Olga Kvetsko, organized creative master classes and 3D visualizations.

The Faculty of Natural Sciences, coordinated by Sofia Fedorchenko, presented large-scale chemical, biological, and geographical experiments.

The Faculty of Physics and Engineering, coordinated by Volodymyr Hryga, demonstrated physical experiments, microelectronics, and interactive technological experiments.

The Faculty of Philology, coordinated by Halyna Vasylkiv, conducted mini-quest language activities that introduced participants to philological specialties and the development of language competence.

Scientists from the Faculty of Management held a workshop on public management, a practicum on public management and administration, where participants modeled the processes of developing, discussing, and making important management decisions. There was also a business simulation on logistics (coordinator – Ivan Khomyak).

The workshop on social inclusion and speech therapy was conducted by the Department of Speech Therapy and Innovative Technologies in Inclusion, demonstrating a special education location, where guests mastered the methods of organizing an inclusive space, studied the specifics of the speech therapy profession, and practiced practical techniques of articulation gymnastics.

The event concluded with a raffle of gifts with branded university merchandise among Stefanyk City residents. A special atmosphere was created by a competition for the best phrase about Carpathian University.

From the lips of the students, sincere words sounded: “Karpatsky is harmony, love and values”, “Stefanyk University is a place of new acquaintances, strength and opportunities”, “Space of inspiration and friendship”.

“STEFANYK 14×14: Open Day Scientific Picnic” became another confirmation that Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University is a modern, open and dynamic space where ideas are born, opportunities are formed and great success stories begin.
