On Vyshyvanka Day, the Department of Computer Engineering and Electronics of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University with the support of SoftServe organized the technical hackathon “A Pixel is an Angry Vyshyvanka.” The event brought together students eager to combine engineering thinking, programming, and modern embedded technologies to solve practical challenges.
Participants worked on the scientific and practical case study “Activation at a Specified Distance.” Teams developed a hardware-software system based on Arduino microcontrollers using the VL53L0X laser infrared distance sensor. The final stage included presentations of their solutions and live demonstrations of the developed systems.
According to the jury’s evaluation, the winners of the hackathon were:
🥇 1st Place — Team “CodeHub”
🥈 2nd Place — Team “Delay(1000)”
- Zakhar Savchyn
- Ivan Varvariuk
- Andrii Oliinyk
- Volodymyr Fufalko
🥉 3rd Place — Team “Project X”
- Marko-Andrii Dmyterchuk
- Diana Lomei
- Vladyslav Boiko
The hackathon became an excellent platform for developing practical skills in microcontroller systems, teamwork, and engineering creativity. We sincerely congratulate the winners and thank all participants for their creativity, perseverance, and high level of preparation. We wish everyone continued success in their future projects and innovations!
