On February 22, 2026, the second stage of the All-Ukrainian Competition–Defense of Research Projects by students who are members of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine took place. The event became an important milestone for the development of youth science, bringing together talented school students and experienced researchers. The expert evaluation was carried out by leading lecturers and scholars representing various fields of fundamental and applied sciences, which ensured a professional and objective assessment of each project.
In the sections of theoretical physics, astronomy, aerophysics, and space research, the evaluation was conducted by academic staff of the Faculty of Physics and Technology. At the same time, in the Department of Engineering and Materials Science, the expert review was coordinated by university specialists, joined by faculty members of the Department of Computer Engineering and Electronics. Such a composition of the jury provided a comprehensive approach to assessing both theoretical research and technical developments.
The participants presented substantial projects focused on materials and additive technologies, automation and robotics, energy and electrical engineering, electronics, applied mechanics, as well as environmentally safe technologies. The defenses were accompanied by active discussions and professional debates, demonstrating the high level of preparation of the young researchers and their ability to integrate theoretical findings with practical solutions.
According to the results of the competition, the winners are:
- Olha Sliuzar — 1st place in the section “Materials and Additive Technologies.”
- Volodymyr Kostiuk — 1st place in the section “Automation and Robotics.”
- Anna Pavliuk — 1st place in the section “Environmentally Safe Technologies and Resource Conservation.”
- Yaroslav Bohoslavets — 2nd place in the section “Environmentally Safe Technologies and Resource Conservation.”
- Sofiia Mokhnachuk — 3rd place in the section “Environmentally Safe Technologies and Resource Conservation.”
- Oleh Tsaryniak — 1st place in the section “Energy and Electrical Engineering.”
- Oleksandr Smashnyi — 1st place in the section “Aerospace Engineering and Defense Technologies.”
- Volodymyr Kostiuk — 1st place in the section “Electronics and Instrumentation.”
- Mykhailo Rohiv — 1st place in the section “Applied Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering.”
